Alan A. Pretnar
Alan has 35 years of experience practicing law. He has represented in excess of a thousand of people charged with criminal felonies and misdemeanors, DUI and other traffic related matters. Alan also has extensive experience in divorce and other family law matters, where he has tried hundreds of cases. He has further been involved in numerous general civil litigation cases (including complex farmland litigation).
Alan also has experience in probate law and estate planning. Since 1983, Alan has been Of Counsel for Harvey & Stuckel, Attorneys at Law, whose practice concentrates in personal injury, workers’ compensation, auto accidents, and death claims where he has collected millions of dollars for injured clients.
Alan is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Illinois. He graduated from Nokomis High School in 1975 and Eastern Illinois University in 1979 before attending Washburn University School of Law and graduating with a Juris Doctor in 1982.
Alan Pretnar is a member of the Illinois Bar and an AV Preeminent lawyer rated by his peers through Martindale Hubbel. He is qualified to argue cases in Illinois Circuit Court, Illinois Appellate Court, Illinois Supreme Court, the United States District Court, the United States Court Of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Andrew P. Billington
Andrew was born and raised in Montgomery County. He grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2007. Andrew then attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he graduated summa cum laude, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2011. He then attended Saint Louis University Law School on the Deans’s Select Scholarship, where he graduated in the top third of his class. During law school, Andrew worked at the Madison County Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office as a 711 intern where he prosecuted criminal cases under the supervision of Assistant State’s Attorneys. Also as a 711 intern, the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office let him perform a bench trial for a DUI charge where he obtained a guilty decision.
After Andrew graduated law school in 2014 he started working for Hammond and Shinners, P.C., an employment, labor and worker’s compensation law firm in Clayton, Missouri. At Hammond and Shinners, Andrew mainly concentrated in individual employment and ERISA litigation in Federal Court.
Following Hammond and Shinners, Andrew began working for Stange Law Firm, P.C.in Edwardsville, Illinois where he practiced exclusively family law. At Stange Law Firm, Andrew practiced all throughout the State but mainly in Madison, St. Clair and Sangamon County.
In Spring, 2017, Andrew joined Alan A. Pretnar Law Office to practice in his home town.
